![]() The lowest my FPS ever got was 71.5 which IMO is completely unnoticeable. It means I am constantly at 90fps which is the CAP, and when 25 ships were all firing at planes, and bombs were dropping and planes were on fire and the whole 9 yards. I deem this perfect as that test is more strenuous than playing SIM. My Pacific benchmark is 71.5 FPS minimum and 89.1 FPS average. Ocean Flight is a 1 minute test, its simple and fast, and will simulate majority of what SIM is, but your FPS can drop lower than the test. Pacific (day) will be a rough 5 minute test, very comprehensive and simulates a battle which is more FPS draining than 99% of what you get in SIM. ONCE YOU START A TEST IT WILL NOT STOP UNTIL COMPLETED! Scroll over Battles and a drop down will appear.Īt the bottom of the drop down menu there is Benchmark. ![]() When you log into war thunder and you are in your Hangar put on your VR.Īt the top left of your screen you will see 3 horizontal lines, Battles, and Community. NOTE: benchmarking can make you nauseas so close your eyes if need be. If it is still not at 90fps, consult your family physician because idk what to do beyond that. ![]() IF it is still not at 90fps, turn off SSAO and Particle Density. If your game is not at 90fps change the following. Trouble shooting if you do not get 90fps after these setting in spoiler Lens Flare Off (You don't want your cockpit glass as bright as the sun) Soft Particles On (looks better when you shoot enemy planes) Haze On (Helps with spotting enemy planes) Water Quality Medium (This is a quality of life one, I prefer the medium look over low, but again FPS impacted)Ĭloud quality in flight 50% (I find this is the best balance between FPS and quality) Terrain Deformation High (I have noticed with lower settings the terrain shifts around in geometry which makes dog fighting near ground or cliffs harder) Small Shadows 0% (I don't want all those small particles casting shadows and taking up my FPS) Reflections Quality 0% (You don't want your cockpit glaring at you and having to deal with sun flares) SSAO 100% (Note SSAO massively effects FPS, if your FPS is low with my settings turn down SSAO) Grass 0% (who needs grass, your flying in the air, it only hurts FPS) ![]() Particle Density 100% (I like seeing parts fly off of planes) Tree Rage 10% (you can still see trees from roughly 1 mile, so it does not impact low level flight) SSAA None (This is useless in VR, google it to find out why, to long to explain here) This will fix most peoples frame rate drop and lag. Download War thunder from the website and run it away from Steam. If you have Open XR or another third party software to run VR. No matter what your settings if you use Steam VR it will lag. I have a GTX 1080, 16gb of ram, and an I7 8700k.įirst things first: Steam VR is glitchy and laggy. ![]()
